Our Biggest Little City just got some big national attention. An article recently published on Business Insider named Reno as one of the best real estate markets to make a profit or invest in property over the next 10 years.

The financial and business news website interviewed real estate agents and housing experts, who narrowed down their list to a Top 15. Reno and Las Vegas were the only two cities to represent their state more than once.

This week not only marked the Autumn Equinox, but also the celebration of another holiday – National Cooking Day! On September 25th, we honor and commemorate the joys of home cooking.

Need some inspiration for a delicious recipe to warm your belly? Look no further than this gem from Brooke Sullivan’s very own kitchen. Mulligatawny is a soup which originated from South Indian cuisine, and this version is a family recipe that has been passed down from four Sullivan generations.

Almost every weekend has one of Reno and Sparks’ iconic events, such as The Great Reno Balloon Race, National Championship Air Races or the Street Vibrations Fall Rally. The East Shore Trail between Incline Village and Sand Harbor State Park is now open! 

The three mile route features 17 designated vista points, 11 designated shoreline access points, eight bear-proof trash stations, more than 30 bike racks, three bike repair stations with air pumps and tools, five bathrooms and five benches with more on the way. There are also six bridges, one of which is the longest bridge in the Tahoe Basin at 810 feet.

The parking is currently free. At the trailhead, there are three new parking lots with about 90 spaces near Ponderosa Road right off of State Route 28. In the coming months, it will be converted to paid parking through the Tahoe Transportation District, with revenues to be used
