Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe is a favorite resort for many locals and visitors to the Reno-Tahoe area. This winter, work will begin to upgrade some of the ski terrain of the mountain and introduce a brand-new high-speed chairlift.

The Lakeview area of the mountain will be expanding to include new terrain and the project is estimated to cost around $7.5 million, with expected completion ahead of the 2022 – 23 winter season.

“For 41 years, the Lakeview triple has provided access to incredible skiing and riding and expansive views of Lake Tahoe. Last season, strong ridership combined with COVID-19 related chairlift restrictions proved it necessary to increase Lakeview’s lift capacity,” said Mike Pierce, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe marketing director. “When

Reno Ice opened earlier this year as the area’s first and only NHL-regulation sized ice rink and we are so excited to cool off on the ice this summer!

The long-awaited ice rink located at 15500 Wedge Parkway had been under construction for most of 2020, and the opening date was originally slated for late November. However, due to COVID-19, the completion of the facility was extended into January 2021.

"A group of local business professionals who had been traveling to South Tahoe from Reno on a weekly basis to play in a men’s league recognized the need for a rink in Reno, which is the largest winter sports demographic area without an ice arena," said Joel Grace, president of Reno Ice’s Board of Directors. "With the support of a local, lead donor,

Thanksgiving is a time to express gratitude, so it’s the perfect opportunity to share why we cherish our Montrêux Golf & Country Club. Conveniently located between Reno and Lake Tahoe, Montrêux is a private, 726-acre golf course community with approximately 550 luxury home sites. The centerpiece is the renowned 18-hole, Jack Nicklaus Signature Championship Course.

Here are 15 reasons why we are thankful for Montrêux:

1. World Class Golf. Montrêux’s Par 72 PGA Championship golf course features a number of drops in elevation as it meanders 7,500 yards through towering pines and flowing streams—creating a serene and spectacular golf setting.
