The annual celebrity golf tournament at Edgewood Tahoe helped raise over $55,000 for three local nonprofits.

The education-focused nonprofits consisted of Lake Tahoe Community College Foundation, Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation and Tahoe-Douglas Rotary Club. On August 23, each nonprofit was presented with a $18,410 check at Edgewood. The three groups donated 400 volunteer hours to staff the concession stands during the 2018 American Century Championship Celebrity Golf Tournament. This year, the event saw record attendance of 57,097.

Each presenter will have up to 18 minutes to convey their exciting ideas on a subject in the technology, entertainment and design fields. TED Talks have expanded their Northern Nevada reach and are coming to Lake Tahoe.
