Last year we saw some big changes in luxury real estate trends. First, the Luxury Market in 2020 in Northern Nevada has been completely redefined due to the influx of Californians leaving the state and staking their claim in Reno-Tahoe. This means that we saw the number of properties priced and sold at $1,000,000 and up increase by a large margin. Many buyers are also offering anywhere from $5,000 to $100,000 over listing price, making the market a dream for sellers. December is the time of year when Northern Nevada begins to twinkle with all the holiday lights in Reno-Sparks. From neighborhood-wide competitions to neighbors who coordinate a gorgeous light display on their block, to individuals with a zest for decorating, many areas get into the holiday spirit. Want to see some of the best light displays? Here are a few places we’d recommend checking out to see holiday lights in Reno-Sparks.

1. Hidden Valley Parade of Lights

For 37 years, the Hidden Valley Parade of Lights has lit up this neighborhood east of McCarran Boulevard. The light displays stay up through Jan. 1, and anyone is welcome to drive the streets and see the show. A community

The top 15 most expensive Reno home sales in 2018 make quite an impressive list. Four of those 15 deals, including the Number 1 sale, had our Sullivan-Wonhof-Gore Luxury Real Estate Team at the helm.

Interestingly, many of the homes on the list were cash deals. Those buyers largely sold their out-of-state homes at a premium, putting them in a liquid position for real estate investments here in Reno.
