The National Charity League is a multi-generational philanthropic organization of mothers and daughters. NCL believes in practicing philanthropy and the active effort to promote human welfare. Their programs seek to empower women to be confident, successful, and well-rounded contributors to society.

The Sierra Nevada Chapter of the NCL serves the local Reno-Sparks community. This group of mothers and daughters come together in commitment to community service, leadership development, and cultural experiences. Brooke Sullivan serves on the Executive Board now and Heather Neal was active from 2012 - 2018, serving as Chapter President in 2017.

"National Charity League has provided a phenomenal opportunity for my two daughters and me to give back to our beautiful community. As a bonus, my girls and I enjoy spending time together, as we make memories while doing good deeds. There are so many amazing charities in Reno that we would have never known existed if it wasn't for NCL. My girls have enjoyed volunteering for Boys and Girls Club of Northern Nevada, Food Bank of Northern Nevada, Reno-Sparks Gospel Mission, trick or trick at The Discovery Museum, Spread the Word, Project 150, and on and on. It’s been awesome to expose them to a whole world outside of their bubble. They truly enjoy giving back and I love the quality time together. I’m going on my second year on the board and it is incredible way to both give back and meet power house ladies doing good for the community."

“The six years I spent in NCL with my daughter were so impactful. It was a tremendous way for us to spend quality time together while giving back to the community. NCL helped develop compassion, kindness, and goodwill, and also sparked a lot of deeper conversations. We talked about poverty, disabilities, service, gratitude, and so much more.  NCL provided an opportunity to engage and connect in a completely different manner, outside the daily hustle - making time for philanthropy service is so important. My daughter has since graduated college, but she fondly reflects back on her inspirational years in the organization. NCL shaped who she is today, and we will both forever have a servant's heart."
