Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series Begins July 2

Rock out to country, pop, rock reggae and soul at Harveys Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series starting with Slightly Stoopid on Saturday.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the annual Summer Concert Series at Harveys Outdoor Arena. Starting at Harveys in 1992 with the Gipsy Kings, the series has seen exponential growth over the years.

Slightly Stoopid with SOJA, The Grouch, Eligh and Zion I

From Ocean Beach, CA, co-founders and multi-instrumentalists Kyle McDonald and Miles Doughty are joined by drummer Ryan “Rymo” Moran, percussionist Oguer “OG” Ocon, saxophonist Daniel “Dela” Delacruz, keyboardist Paul Wolstencroft, trumpet and trombone player Andy Geib to form Slightly Stoopid. On their “Return of the Red Eye” tour, they are joined by unofficial 8th member Karl Denson of the Rolling Stones and Greyboy Allstars. Nearly two decades into their artistry, Slightly Stoopid continues to progress into new musical territory, defining their signature sound while creating a contagious feel-good vibe that has its own lifestyle and subculture.

Widespread Panic

An American rock band from Athens, Georgia with a lineup of guitarist/singer John Bell, bassist Dave Schools, drummer Duane Trucks, percussionist Domingo “Sunny” Ortiz, keyboardist John “JoJo” Hermann, and guitarist Jimmy Herring. Since their inception in 1986, Widespread Panic has risen to elite status among American jam bands. They are frequently compared to other “road warriors” such as the Grateful Dead and Phish and they hold the record for the number of sold-out performances at Red Rocks Ampitheatre (Morrison, CO) at 48 and Philips Arena (Atlanta, GA) at 20.

James Taylor is an America singer-songwriter and guitarist. He has won five Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. He is one of the best-selling artists of all time, having sold more than 100 million records worldwide. His first breakthrough came in 1070 with the #3 single “Fire and Rain” and had his first #1 hit the following year with “You’ve Got a Friend”.

Sting & Peter Gabriel

Two of music’s most iconic artists – Sting & Peter Gabriel – will unite this summer for a once in a lifetime concert tour. Having first toured together in the eighties for Amnesty International, Rock Paper Scissors will find Peter Gabriel and Sting performing both separately and together, playing their own songs as well as melding their bands to explore each other’s most celebrated hits.

Tim McGraw with Special Guest Brook Eden

Tim McGraw’s performance will serve as a major highlight to the 27th Annual American Century Championship, the country’s premier celebrity golf tournament, which is broadcast live on NBC Sports television. The annual tournament features some of sport’s and entertainment’s greatest celebrities.

Don Henley
