Memorial Day weekend is coming up and Reno has it packed with fun and reflective events.

Whether you’re chowing down on pancakes for breakfast, or you’re honoring our troops at a Virginia City parade, this is a great list of events to get your Memorial Day weekend with the family planned. Remember those who have served and also spend some quality time together. What could be better than that!

Pancake Fundraiser

Get your ‘cakes as early as 7am on Monday, May 28 at the Atlantis Resort. This is a fundraising event to benefit Honor Flight Nevada, which sends veterans to Washington D.C. to visit memorial sites. Join in on the breakfast gathering from 7am until 11am.

Service at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery

This event will take place on Memorial Day at 11am in Fernley, NV at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery and will allow everyone who attends to remember all who have served our beautiful country.  The cemetery was opened in 1990 and is operated by the State of Nevada – it has held fallen soldiers and allowed a beautiful place for their families to continue to honor them and citizens to pay their respects.

Stars & Stripes Honor March

The 2nd Annual Stars and Stripes Honor March around the Sparks Marina will take place from 8am until 11am on Memorial Day. This fun parade will raise money for the Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza.

Celebration of Heroes Parade

Virginia City will be kicking off it’s historic annual parade starting at noon on Saturday, May 26. What better way to pay service to the men and women who have served the United States than this fun gathering. Be sure to arrive early to stake out a good spot and explore the rustic town.

Free Kids Activities and BBQ at Cabela’s
