Spring is in the air in Northern Nevada! The temperatures have been rising, the trees are heavy with blossoms, and winter is well behind us. With historic snowfall throughout the Lake Tahoe region, the change in seasons has been a welcome shift. Spring is a time of fresh beginnings and waking up after a long winter, and the events in Reno-Tahoe reflect that! Check out a few of the events we are looking forward to in May.

Memorial Day weekend is a time to remember those who have fallen serving in the military as well as honor those are serving. The three-day weekend is also the unofficial start to summer and a great time to enjoy all of the great activities around Reno.

 

HRPS Guided Walking Tours

The first Hot August Nights kicked off in 1986 when a fleet of classic autos made their appearance on the lawn of Rancho San Rafael Regional Park in Reno, NV.

The cars were being shown off by their owners and, true to form, onlookers marveled at the timeless beauty. Hot August Nights is a celebration of classic rock and roll and cars. The year is the 32nd annual event and Reno’s biggest street festival. Events will continue throughout the week that appeal to all ages. Virginia City celebrated last week before the party settled into the streets of Reno and Sparks. Almost all the hotel-casinos are hosting show n shines and other competitions, with free entertainment to boot.
