2021 has been a wild ride for all of us, but in the midst of so many changes many new restaurants made their debut in Reno and Sparks. New places serving Thai food, beer, empanadas, Detroit-style pizza and juicy burgers are just some of the culinary additions to Northern Nevada this year.

Now residents of Reno-Tahoe can catch a quick, nonstop flight to the Eureka/Arcata community in Northern California. The inaugural flight service is offered by aha!, an airline powered by veteran ExpressJet Airlines, and began on November 9th.

Flights will operate each Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday departing the California Redwood Coast – Humboldt County Airport at 11:25 a.m. PT and arrive at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport by 12:35 p.m. PT. Flights from Reno to Eureka will depart at 9:30 a.m. PT and arrive at 10:40 a.m. PT.

An impressive new event amphitheater is coming to Northern Nevada that will entertain thousands.

Marnell Gaming, the parent company of the Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks, NV announced an outdoor entertainment center with nearly 9,000 seats. The project should be completed by this summer, which was further solidified by the inking of deals with the likes of Toby Keith and Lady Antebellum. The Sparks Planning Commission approved the facility by unanimous vote on January 3.

“This new amphitheater is another step in Marnell Gaming’s commitment to reinvest not only in the Nugget, but downtown Sparks,” said Anthony Marnell III, in a press release. “It will give the Nugget the ability to bring even more top name entertainment to Sparks for locals and

The first Hot August Nights kicked off in 1986 when a fleet of classic autos made their appearance on the lawn of Rancho San Rafael Regional Park in Reno, NV.

The cars were being shown off by their owners and, true to form, onlookers marveled at the timeless beauty. Hot August Nights is a celebration of classic rock and roll and cars. The year is the 32nd annual event and Reno’s biggest street festival. Events will continue throughout the week that appeal to all ages. Virginia City celebrated last week before the party settled into the streets of Reno and Sparks.
