The 2021 Luxury Trends report has arrived and what a year it was. The luxury real estate buying boom, which started in 2020, grew frantic in 2021. In both years, luxury buyers headed to less populated areas to escape pandemic fears and restrictions and gain some much needed space while spending a lot of their time at home.

The top 15 most expensive Reno home sales in 2018 make quite an impressive list. Four of those 15 deals, including the Number 1 sale, had our Sullivan-Wonhof-Gore Luxury Real Estate Team at the helm.

Interestingly, many of the homes on the list were cash deals. Those buyers largely sold their out-of-state homes at a premium, putting them in a liquid position for real estate investments here in Reno. The most expensive home, a beautiful manor on Foret Circle in charming Montreux Golf & Country Club, sold for $4.9 million. This was an increase of $1.5 million from last year's top spot, as well as the highest sale ever in Montreux and the highest sales-per-square-foot since 2007.

Nancy Fennell, President of Dickson Realty, shares her insight on the rise of luxury home sales in the Reno area.

The luxury market in Northern Nevada is defined as homes valued at $1,000,000 or higher. It’s also important to consider that people who own this price home in the Nevada market are very likely to own another luxury home in a different market. Fennell shares who is buying and selling these properties and what some of the trends in this price range are.
