South Lake Tahoe

Heavenly Holidays: A festival on the mountain! This fun celebration features a 16-foot interactive snow globe where the kids can get their photos taken with Santa. There will also be sleigh rides, ice sculptures, music and a New Year’s celebration with an outdoor concert, a gondola “ball drop” and fireworks.

The first Hot August Nights kicked off in 1986 when a fleet of classic autos made their appearance on the lawn of Rancho San Rafael Regional Park in Reno, NV.

The cars were being shown off by their owners and, true to form, onlookers marveled at the timeless beauty. Hot August Nights is a celebration of classic rock and roll and cars. The year is the 32nd annual event and Reno’s biggest street festival. Events will continue throughout the week that appeal to all ages. Virginia City celebrated last week before the party settled into the streets of Reno and Sparks. Almost all the hotel-casinos are hosting show n shines and other competitions, with free entertainment to boot.

This Saturday and Sunday the 36th annual Great Italian Festival will turn the streets of downtown Reno into a celebration of Italian heritage. 




Virginia Street and surrounding intersections will be transformed by booths serving delicious-smelling foods like chicken Parmesan, tortellini, fried ravioli, calamari, lasagna and of course, spaghetti and meatballs. The streets will be filled with live performances along with two stages that will feature a magician and fabulous Italian singers. You will also find grape stomp competitions, all of which are fun and free. Don't forget to pick up a pasta muffin tin for unlimited sauce tastings (it's only $4!).
