One of the largest winters on record graced the Reno-Tahoe region and each week we can feel it getting a little bit warmer.

When it seemed like spring would never come, suddenly the sun is shining! Those bluebird days put the itch of summer in our shoes and we’re looking forward to enjoying so many springtime activities. You can enjoy the best of both worlds, or as locals affectionately call it “The Tahoe Trifecta”.

What is the Trifecta? Golf, boat/kayak and ski all in the same day. Seems impossible, but we can guarantee you that it isn’t. The weather is just warm enough to be comfortable, but not so warm that the lake is full of boats and paddlers.

There are so many awesome outdoor experiences around Reno and Lake Tahoe and Interbike 2018 is here this week so we wanted to share some of our favorite mountain biking trails.

Before we know it, members of the biking world from all over will be descending on our area looking for great places to ride. These trails are fun for locals and visitors alike!

Peavine

Peavine is a great place to start here in the Reno area. It has a huge network of trails and the Biggest Little Trail Stewardship has spent recent years adding and improving the single-track trails. Peavine is a big mountain all by itself on the northwest side of town, resulting in fast, flowy trails with awesome views of downtown Reno and the Sierra Nevada.

Companies looking to relocate are flocking to Northern Nevada - why?

The Reno-Sparks region has become a distribution mecca, due mostly in part to its proximity to I-80. Nancy McCormick is the vice president of business retention, expansion and workforce for the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) and they use I-80 as a selling point. According to data from EDAWN, the area has one-day truck service to the Bay Area, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Portland and Boise. Add an extra 24-hours and two-day service is available to Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico.
