Sierra Vista Park is set to begin construction next month and is scheduled to open to the public in early May.

 Director of Parks of Recreation of Reno, Andy Bass, says that they finished construction of the perimeter trail around the park last summer, and at a recent City Council meeting the city approved to start building the entrance gate. More than 200 acres will be getting a new life at the site of the former Northgate Golf Course. The area has been empty since 2009 and it’s a great opportunity to have open space preserved in the city.

The City of Reno bought the property in 2011 for $2.5 million, but was waiting to see how the city grew before deciding what to make of it. Now they are moving forward with rehabilitation and plan to add

Reno-Tahoe cares about promoting and implementing fitness programs for people 50 years and better.

The Reno-Tahoe Senior Games return on January 28, 2017 for participants in both individual and team competitions. Competitors will compete within age groups to win gold, silver and bronze medals. Registration is available now through January 20 by mail, or January 23 via in-person drop-off or online.

The free Opening Ceremony will take place on Saturday, January 28 and conclude on Valentine’s Day, February 14, with a special V-Day Dinner and Dance event at the Eldorado Resort Casino.
