Reno Tahoe is blessed by more than 300 sunny days per year and the spring is no exception! Enjoy the fresh blooms of a new season with snowy mountain peaks still beckoning to our ski community. Whether you’re enjoying fresh air or taking a dip in our many surrounding lakes, it’s easy to find your perfect oasis in Northern Nevada. Where else could you ski in the morning and golf later that afternoon? Or hike to a summit then enjoy a walking art tour through Midtown? Plan your ultimate day of adventure in Reno Tahoe and you will not be disappointed.

Hit the Slopes

The winter snowpack has been generous, which means that the high elevation of Tahoe will boast snowy slopes for months to come. Lake Tahoe ski resorts offer everything from snowboarding and skiing to cross-country trail exploration and fireside relaxation. You can even try other activities like snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and snow biking. Just a 20 – 30-minute drive to the lake from south Reno, there’s really no excuse not to go!

Take a Hike

Take a hike in Reno Tahoe and feast your eyes on magnificent mountain vistas, wide-open desert skies, and mild spring temperatures. Beat the summer crowds by enjoying the more popular hikes in the spring. You can even hike to the Hunter Creek waterfall and be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Great Basin and Lake Tahoe… right here in Reno! From a leisurely stroll to serious miles, and everything in between, the terrain here is just waiting for your shoes to find a trail.

Ride the Waves

The famed Truckee River connects beautiful Lake Tahoe and the blue waters of Pyramid Lake. The Truckee cuts through downtown Reno and creates a playground for whitewater rafters and kayakers during the spring runoff rush. Try your hand at navigating rapids with clinics and tours offered by Sierra Adventures. For the hardcore adrenaline junkies, you can even surf the waves on Lake Tahoe on the occasion that a swell comes in. Be sure to enjoy boating, sailing, and stand-up paddle boarding along the way.

Tee Up

Reno Tahoe is home to more than 30 golf courses for any skill level, including the best game of your life. We are home to the area’s only Jack Nicklaus signature course at Montrêux Golf & Country Club, which also played host to the PGA Tour for over 20 years. In Reno, you can also try your hand at ArrowCreek golf course twelve months out of the year. Head to Lake Tahoe for a dozen more courses, including Edgewood Tahoe where the American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament takes place each summer. Grab your clubs and hit ‘em straight!
