North Lake Tahoe SNOWFEST

Now through March 9

The North Lake Tahoe SNOWFEST, happening February 28 - March 9, 2025, is one of the most exciting winter extravaganzas on the West Coast. Each year, the festival celebrates everything that makes North Lake Tahoe special, highlighting the vibrant connections between the local community and the adventurous visitors who flock to this winter wonderland.

Their mission is to uplift local nonprofits, support public programs, empower student organizations, and fund scholarships, all through the joy of a unique ten-day festival. With a lineup packed full of festivities, laughter, and winter magic, SNOWFEST invites everyone to join in on the unforgettable adventure.

AVA Ballet Theatre Presents Peter Pan

March 15 - 16

The spring season for the AVA Ballet Theatre opens with the classical ballet Peter Pan at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts. Re-staged and re-choreographed by Alexander Van Alstyne, Peter Pan is the captivating story of Peter Pan and Wendy and their adventures in Neverland. Fairies, pirates, and the Lost boys all have starring roles in this fantasy adventure. This classic story is filled with mesmerizing dance, intrigue, and is fun for the entire family.

The composer of the wonderful Peter Pan score, Carmon DeLeone, will be conducting the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra. Mr. DeLeone is the music director for the Cincinnati Ballet.

Outstanding guest principal dancers who have danced in the San Francisco Ballet, Houston Ballet, and Salt Lake City's Ballet West will preform with the large cast from AVA Ballet Theatre.

 

Leprechaun Race

The 2025 Leprechaun Race 5k Run/Walk is in Reno, Nevada on March 16, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. The course, which goes through Midtown and Wells Avenue districts, is perfect for beginners and the family. Participants will receive a race shirt, finisher's medal, and other goodies. Enjoy live music from a DJ and a bagpipers, plus a finish line with refreshments.
