The food and drink scene in Reno-Tahoe is constantly evolving and there is no shortage of delicious dining options from a myriad of cuisines. Since the new year, there have been many new developments and hot spots so we put together a list of four we think you should try.

Midtown Wine Spirits & Bites

Just opened in February, a new live music lounge and bar has taken over in Midtown in the space formerly known at Midtown Wine Bar. Aptly named Midtown Wine Spirits & Bites, the new lounge is owned by two Nugget casino execs-Amanda Flangas and her partner, Anthony Layton-Mathews. Some of the acts the will be featured will be those that performed at Midtown Wine Bar including jazz-blues musicians Major Nelson and Rick Metz. The new spot is open seven days a week and you can catch the live music every Thursday through Sunday.

Fourk Kitchen

Located in the Redfield Promenade shopping center next to Nordstrom rack, dining at Fourk is more than just a meal-it’s an experience. A small, California-based concept restaurant, this location is their first in Nevada. Dinner is a four-course prix fixe menu with a happy hour before the meal begins. The head chef welcomes diners, detailing the origin story of the restaurant, the artwork, and the menu (which rotates on a monthly basis). The concept was created by 24-year military veteran Paul Jansen, who started his culinary journey in 2015 and also serves as the head chef. Reservations are required.

Centro South

The ever-popular Centro has expanded to the Rancharrah shopping center. Centro focuses on cocktails, tapas, and delectable small plates like sticky ribs, barramundi, and bone marrow. The first location in Midtown opened in 2015, but local chef and owner Alberto Gazzola downsized his restaurant portfolio last summer when he sold his decades-old Italian eatery, La Vecchia.

Garden of Reno

This family-owned business is a combined flower and coffee shop. You can enjoy locally roasted coffee and pastries in a fragrant lounge environment or work with their full-service florist to customize bouquets and choose from their wide selection of arrangements. Some of their menu offerings even include flower-infused coffee and pastries from Rounds Bakery, Delicious Designs, and Dorinda’s Chocolates.
