The Great Italian Festival Returns to Reno
Posted by Brooke Sullivan on Wednesday, October 11th, 2017 at 7:04pm
This Saturday and Sunday the 36th annual Great Italian Festival will turn the streets of downtown Reno into a celebration of Italian heritage.
Virginia Street and surrounding intersections will be transformed by booths serving delicious-smelling foods like chicken Parmesan, tortellini, fried ravioli, calamari, lasagna and of course, spaghetti and meatballs. The streets will be filled with live performances along with two stages that will feature a magician and fabulous Italian singers. You will also find grape stomp competitions, all of which are fun and free. Don't forget to pick up a pasta muffin tin for unlimited sauce tastings (it's only $4!).
The two-day festival takes place on October 7 and 8 from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and from 10am to 5pm on Sunday. The variety of foods available will be sure to please and the activities lined up for this year are great for all ages. Indulge at the Eldorado Italian Dinner Buffet and sample the infamous porcini mushroom ravioli, or watch the Great Italian Festival Sauce Cook-Off and don't forget your tasting tin. An Italian Farmers Market will be available all weekend and don't forget to sign the kids up for the Gelato Eating Contest.
Don't miss out on these fun events!
