The 5th Annual Reno Bites Week returns with 10 days of events on October 7.

The yearly celebration of Reno’s foodie culture is back with a bang and will have more than two dozen food establishments participating in the events that run from October 7 until the 14. Restaurants are offering specials and menus at $10, $20 and $30. The organization has chosen the befitting tagline “Break the Chain. Eat Local.” to advertise the eleven exciting events offered this year. Check the Reno Bites website for tickets and more information!

Kick off the 5th anniversary of Reno Bites with a broadcasted overview of the event which will be shown in restaurants across the city. Enjoy these $10 food and drink specials:

 

Pigtobeerfest II, October 8 @ 5:30pm

Pignic Pub & Patio

Featuring the Open Spike Music Festival w/ special guests Strictly Business. The Open Spike Fest will consist of 3 scheduled song sets by some of Reno’s finest singer/songwriters.

  • $30: Wurst Trio with grilled onions and peppers, German-style potato salad and Reno Brining Co. Kraut, plus all-you-can-drink German Brews.
  • $10 individual plates and $6 individual German Drafts

 

Octoberfeast, October 9 @ 5:15pm to 10:30pm

Under the Rose Brewing Company

A traditional family-style Israeli dinner with bottomless beer pairing for $70 per person. Presented by the talented duo Josh and Whitney Deri of Blend catering. This pop-up experience will showcase the fabulous cuisine from this Mediterranean country.

 

Delicious Encounters of the Rapscallion Kind, October 10 @ 6:30pm

A 1977-style Tasting Menu at $39 per person. This special RBW celebrates the year Rapscallion opened its doors. The chef will be serving from the original opening menu. Enjoy the classic seafood and steak house charm that has wine and dine Reno for the last 39 years.

Join the folks at Campo for a wonderful Pasta Tasting and drink pairing at $45 per person.

Yelp’s Far East Street Eats, October 12 @ 6pm to 9pm

Chez Louie at the Nevada Museum of Art

Yelp is presenting its Far East Street Eats as a free private that celebrates Asian cultures and Asian owned businesses in our community. Experience the cuisines of Thailand, Korea, Japan, India, Vietnam while immersing yourself in traditional music and live dance performances. One hundred percent of proceeds from the event will benefit the Nevada Museum of Art and they suggest a $15 donation per person. Be sure to RSVP for this event on the Yelp event page.

Caravan to Casablanca, October 13 @ 6:30pm

Homage Bakery

Tickets are $65 per person. Revel in exotic cuisine, beverages and colorful culture at this Moroccan Bazaar dinner event, featuring live entertainment and multiple food experiences through Homage.

 

Food Truck Iron Chef, October 14 @ 5pm to 9pm

McKinley Arts & Culture Center

This is a fun and family-friendly event for all ages! Come and judge the food creations of the many northern Nevada diverse food trucks! All trucks will have to use the same “secret ingredient” and will compete for bragging rights as the winner of 2016’s Food Truck Iron Chef. As a benefit for local nonprofit the Solace Tree, each dish will be offered for just $5.

 

Chef Showdown, October 15 @ 2pm to 5pm

Czyz’s Appliance

This free event pits eight of Reno’s top chefs against one another as they compete for prizes in Czyz’s Appliance’s gourment kitchens. Each chef gets one hour to prepare their best dish using secret ingredients that are only revealed to them just before they begin to cook. The panel of judges will decide who comes out on top!

 

Hannibal: The Pop Up, October 15 @ 9:30pm

Good Luck MacBeth and Crème Café

The classic dinner and show – to the next level! Your experience will start with Hors D’Oeuvres and a cocktail at the Good Luck MacBeth Theater to set the mood for an evening of intriguing theater and experiential dining. The show “Silence. The Musical” will be presented, with an additional round of food and drink during intermission. After exploring the world of Hannibal Lecter, sidle on next door to Crème Café to enjoy three more courses of themed dining and drink. Five courses and the show are $95 per person and three courses with no show are $75 per person.

Art, Food & Roots, October 16 @ 4:30 to 8:30pm

Urban Roots

Come enjoy this fundraising event for Urban Roots, a nonprofit that is dedicated to growing healthy minds, bodies and communities with school and farm-based opportunities and garden education. Tickets are $75 per person and include dishes prepared by Chef Amy Simpson of Jack Rabbit Moon, Chefs Josh and Whitney Deri of Blend Catering, Chef Jessica Shapiro of the Cheese Board, Chef Stefanie Teeter of Liberty Food & Wine Exchange and Chef Chris Cowell of BFF Café.
